Hai Ravi
Good question.
My reply to this post is very simple.
If you have ample money to invest then go for gold bar.
If you have litte money to invest then go for gold coins.
One more thing gold bars always demand good price, whereas
gold coins wont.
Thinks twice.

Hello,
Yes its all about money, how much do you have is very much important and i must say that this point which mohan jee referred should be kept in mind while buying gold either in any form whether its coin or its bar.

Hi RKD,
To invest on gold is always good. But when we are thinking about bulk investments, as suggested by our Mohan, a good contributor of this site, it is better to go for gold bars. But suppose gold bars if you take, you cannot keep the same in bank and take a loan, when need arises. I mean, suppose after purchase of gold, suddenly you may need some money. You cannot keep the gold bars in bank and take loan. Bank will give loan only on ornaments. So in my view always we should try to invest in different shapes say gold bars, gold coins, ornaments. Always investing in the same manner is not good.
