Elder persons are suppose to live with children and not at old aged homes. And i dont think any body will be happy to live there. By force they are being sent and forced to live there. Its pity to see that they have to forgo their love and affection and live in a different world. Though the old age homes are hosting their best , that personal touch will be missing.

Yes i would like add here that old people need care and affection rather than old age homes.
They really have the right to live with their children. Unfortunately nowadays we are seeing more nuclear families with no elderly support.
This may be due to the reasons such as huge differences between generation gap in ideas and lack of time due to busy schedule of both husband and wife.
Fortunately in my family i have seen a mother of three sons who lives alone in her own small little sweet home in her village because she could not adjust to city life. Her three sons are well settled in cities and built a home for her with all she needs. Often she visits whenever possible to her children.
Whenever i see her I feel that if all children could be like them there will be no problems and no need of old age homes.
I think that after the children are well settled they can atleast show their respect to their parents for what they have done for them in this way.

Hi All,
Yes you are right, the old age homes are not the right choice for the parents and should be avoided.
In olden days people used to stay near and group of their community people stayed close by, now with nuclear families and jobs people leaving their parents and staying alone, which is making independent and behaves him to think selfish, they neither bother about their parents nor their relatives.
In my opinion Old age homes are lucky to the parents where their siblings settled in other countries and for those who left them in either case parents will suffer a lot if no care takers are available.
I say unlucky because, childrens always look for this option to leave their parents at old age homes.
