Why not consider the other options. We can go for other good options like civils,MBA,groups, law and there are many other professions available after B.tech . Many wont consider the above options as we know that all of the above are not reliable ie no job guarentee. The main feelings in the present youth is job security and to get settled and married. Then later think of higher studies. Higher studies means good skills, good salary but wait for 2 years. If i get selected in campus recruitment, then ill go for job else i would go for mtech or phd, who knows what we will think at that time. So its waste to worry and its better to concentrate on studies. Exams are back........

well one more thing to consider is finance for higher education. many cant wait till post graduation because they don't have enough money to go for it unless we get into colleges which provide some support in financial aid.
I personally feel that students should be encouraged for higher studies and there must be more reliable part time and distance education schemes so that students don't feel that they will not loose experience.

well the question depends on good and bad criteria. like good m.tech college or a good job adjustable pg college or a good job adjustable pg college or a ok job poor pg college or a a degraded job. In India colleges are not holding syllabus, infra structure equally their rates and ratings are different. so with out mentioning college branch degree and job post, answering this question is impossible. gaining knowledge is always a great thing the only question lies is while earning or without earning. well i prefer without so that we can put more concentration on what we do. still it depends on financial backgrounds and offers provided by colleges and govt

The point here is actually whether it is necessary to go for higher studies to get post graduation or look for a job after graduation itself.
if we go for post graduation we may or may not get a salary rise and loose two years experience. It is mainly intended for research or teaching field nowadays so it may not be suitable for everyone's taste

That's the place exactly come into picture. If we move into a well established college for a post graduation we will recieve styfund and that will be almost 2- 2.5 per annum lakhs
There are several scholar ship exams and scholar ships from universities which students can avail.
If we can get a proper placement we will get more than the position we can reach in that 2 years.
And this degree matters when we try to move to any other organization or any other industry. Post graduate degree always helps in vertical movement of your position.
After a certain experience your salary doesn't really matter and will not grow in the same rate as before, but your position is most essential for a respectable and peaceful life.
So it depends on college and job which you are comparing
