Significance of Srikhara nama samavatsara:
Sri khara nama samvatsara is also referred to as chandramana ugadi.
Khara Nama Samvatsara is 25th one in the 60 year cycle of Hindu Telugu calendar.
The Sanskrit word Khara means cruel, hard, sharp, and also an Ass.
Khara is also the name of a Raakshasa killed by Lord Sri Rama during the epic Ramayana.
By name it suggests that the year ahead is going to be tough and challenging and one has to be vigilant with foresight.
So it is advised that on this auspicious day to worship and pray the parabrahma the creator of this Universe, the presiding Deity of eternal Kala Lord Sri Maha Vishnu.
