Dear Shoba,
I think limited homework is okay. However home work which is beyond a reasonable limit is not at all useful to the students.Burdening the students with unwanted homework is waste of time and energy.
Regards, Hareesh.

Hi Kalayani,
Gone are those days when a lot of assignments like working out all question papers of the then examination during holidays and we used to work out. We as parents and children too expect a change. Children of this generation always wish to enjoy holidays either with friends, or entertainment channels, online games or learning other activities of their interested fields. Ignoring homework completely during holidays of their minds obsessed with only studies is also not good. During holidays they should learn to balance all activities of life. Assignments should be in such a way that it should be out of syllabus and on general issues like 'How you spent the vacations', 'Your Favorite personality, holiday spot, Evergreen memories of his childhood, what if there is no sun or moon? , create a story on…., storytelling topics and the like a debate raising questions which diverts their attention. It enriches their IQ and may feel fun instead of burdensome.
