Andhra Pradesh State at Present

It is very true that Potti Sriramulu has fasted for 60 days and that too fast unto death so that the telugu speaking regions can be united and can be a single state called Andhra Pradesh.

It is also very unfortunate that if a person does a fast for 10 day out of pressure is it right for the central government to declare a separate state. This is the common question going around the place. It is also questioned that if any other region person does the same would they (UPA) grant a separate state.

When we think is a broader perspective it is not good to just make an announcement that a separate Telangana state would be formed and after which the same government is saying that in order to save the life of Mr. K Chandra Shekar Rao they had to come in pressure and declare it.

How would Andhra Pradesh Look like when splitted

When we look at the way things went on from the independence time every one will say that a separate state for Telangana is a must because of the way this region has been neglected from many years. Now since this issue has come up and since KCR has established a party in the name of Telangana and was fighting for its cause from almost 10 years. This movement has been from many decades and time and again some how or the other ways things are pacified and people forgot the issue.

History of the Telangana Movement

When we look at history of India while the State Reorganisation Committee was established in 1953 to form states based on language the committee clearly said that Telangana should be a separate state because of cultural and other issues but because of the pressure from leaders from other regions it was merged with unified Andhra against the wishes of its people.

Many movements have taken place and many have lost their lives specially students and others and a lot of blood shed has taken place in the former years. It was in the year 2000 that KCR formed a separate party because the BJP led NDA government was in favor of Telangan State because it was on their manifesto and if comes to power it will do it but the TDP led government in the state opposed it and Telengana Rastriya Samiti party was formed and in the 2004 elections it joined hands with Congress on the promise that it will be given a separate state if comes to power and betrayed the sentiments of the people and we all know how KCR came out of the alliance and the events after it.

It was in Dec 2009 recently that KCR came out saying that he will go on a hunger strike and the events which led the UPA to announce the decision and also the samayaka Andhra movement by other region leaders and people which led to a lot of public and private property damage and loss to both private and public and also the way things turned out in Ananatapur and in the Sri Venkateshwara University where students are beaten and dragged and also in other parts of the state. Every where we see unrest and political turmoil almost in all parts of the state.

Many MLAs, MPs and MLCs irrespective of their parties started resigning to their posts and in the history of Andhra Pradesh Politics or even India this is the first incident of its kind. The State assembly is halted indefinitely and most of the leaders are doing fast unto death and it is very difficult for the government to handle and even in this situation all the political parties are looking for their vote banks and trying to capture the hearts of them by going in their way.

There is no clear agenda in the leaders mind and they are just doing it to gain for their selfish needs and as always people are left behind and in the processions or protests it is the common man hurt and the leaders are given special treatment.

To my knowledge and understanding it is not at all for the benefit of the people but for the political benefit of some leaders who are craving for power and also the UPA at center to redeem it hold made a hurried decision.

This is not good that the government take a decision which has affected millions of lives.
