The Sammakka Saralamma festival or Jathara in Warangal District is regarded as one of the famous festivals in the country. Sammakka Saralamma Jathara starts from 27 January 2010 till 30 January 2010. This festival takes place inside the deep forests at Medaram in Taadwai taluk of Warangal district every two years. Thousands of devotees visit this place from many different states and countries in large numbers. The government has made wide arrangements at the Sammakka Saralamma Jathara .

The State Road Transport Corporation known as APSRTC has made elobrate transport arrangements to this place by plying special buses which are around 2,600 from different places to Medaram. Buses ply from different place in regular intervals. It is recommended to the pilgrims to come with full preparations for the festival because there are also many Tourist places in Warangal like the famous Rammappa Temple, Thousand Pillars temple, Warangal Fort, Bhadrakali Temple, lakkavaram Lake, Mettu Gutta and many other places.

Warangal is around 130 kms from Hyderabad which can be reached by air, Train or bus from different states and places. Once reaching Warangal Sammakka Saralamma Jathara held at Medaram is around 100 km. One can find buses from the Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet bus depots. The time taken to reach Warangal from Hyderabad is around 3 and half hours and another 3 hours from Warangal to Medaram. Medaram can be reached by bus, car by road and the government has laid new roads leading to Medaram.
