    Railway Budget 2010 - Andhra Pradesh

    The Railway Budget for 2010-2011 was presented in the Lok Sabha on 24 Feb 2010 by the Union Minister for Railways Ms. Mamata Banarjee and has taken care of Andhra Pradesh which has been neglected in the previous budgets. Mamata Banarjee has announced more than 22 new trains which pass through the Central Railway (SCR) zone and Andhra Pradesh which will benefit the state a lot. The Railway minister has also announced few sops to the State including a Wagon Factory and a Sports academy.

    Railway Budget 2010: Andhra Pradesh highlights


    Doubling works to be carried out on the following routes


    1. Vijayawada - Machilipatnam
    2. Vijayawada - Nidadavole
    3. Vijayawda - Gudivada via Bheemavaram
    4. Kotipalli - Narsapur

    New Lines


    1. Puttaparthy - Narsapur
    2. Hyderabad – Jagityala
    3. Pandurangapuram – Bhadrachalam
    4. Bhadrachalam – Sattupalli
    5. Vizianagaram, Palasa, Rajam

    New Trains


    1. Hyderabad-Vizag-Howrah (Tourism Train)
    2. Madurai - Pune Via Hyderabad
    3. Goa - Tirupati via Bangalore
    4. Coimbatore – Tirupati (Inter City)
    5. Tirupati and Hyderabad/Secunderabad (Inter City)
    6. Kacheguda – Mahbubnagar (Passenger Train)
    7. Tirupati – Madanapalle (Passenger Express)
    8. Guntur – Chennai (Passenger Train)
    9. Hyderabad – Ajmer
    10. Mumbai – Secunderabad (Inter City)
    11. Zaheerabad – Secunderabad
    12. Kachiguda – Chittoor
    13. Falaknuma – Lingampally (MMTS Special for Ladies)
    14. Mumbai-Pune-Tirupathi-Kanchipura (Matrubhoomi Express)

    New Rail Routes


    1. Jaggayyapeta - Miryalguda
    2. Nizamabad - Ramagundam
    3. Bhadrachalam - Kothagudem
    4. Mantralayam road - Kurnool
    5. Patancheru - Adilabad
    6. Hyderabad-Gajwel-Siddipet
    7. Siricilla-Jagityal
    8. Jagdalpur-Miryalguda
    9. Bhadrachalam-Kovvuru

    Other allocations


    1. Puttaparthy - Tirupathi (Gauge Conversion)
    2. Giddaluru - Chittoor (Line Survey)
    3. Secunderabad - Manmad Express (Extended up to Shirdi)
    4. Vizag-Nizamuddin Samatha Express (To Run Daily)
    5. MMTS funds increased by 50%
    6. Giddaluru - Bhajraopet (Survey for New Line)
