As soon as the incidents of communal riots occurred the local legislators belonging to the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) party and also the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reached the areas within no time. MIM legislator Ahmed Pasha Khadri raised allegations on the police that they were not duty bound but remained as mute spectators to the incidents of attacks on the houses and belongings of the minority community. In turn the police has done lathi charge on the youth of the community.
But reiterating to the comments the BJP leader G. Ramaswamy has said that this is something which some people of vested interests created trouble by objecting to the installation of saffron flags because it was Hanuman Jayanthi. He however said that there is no objection on the minority community to install the flags on their festivals.
