After the communal violence started in old city of Hyderabad The Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan addressed a press conference and informed the press that communal tensions prevailed in the south zone of Hyderabad including the old city and Ghoshamahal division under west zone of Hyderabad. He said that adequate measures have been taken by the authorities to see that normalcy is restored in the tensed areas of Hyderabad by the deployment of additional forces.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan also said that in the South and West Zone of Hyderabad under Section 144 Cr Pc prohibitory orders are imposed in the tension prevailing areas because of the communal violence between two communities.

It is also said that 28 or more people were injured because of stone pelting and about 70 trouble makers were arrested. Over 15 cases have been booked and more number of miscreants are to be taken into custody.

Further to this Hyderabad Police Commissioner has said that personnel from Rapid Action Force (RAF) and forces from state police are deployed in troubled ares like Moosa Bowli, Hussaini Alam, Purana Pul, Begum Bazar and their surrounding areas to avoid any untoward incidents further.

Further more he informed that the latest technology like SMS and cell phones has helped in the trouble makers to spread unnecessary rumors and magnify the clashes and spread them to other areas of Hyderabad.

Already 30 platoons of forces joined the state police and two more RAF companies joined in addition to Andhra Pradesh Special Police and CRPF.
