SHRC asks Government to report on communal violence in Hyderabad by April 7

As the communal violence between two communities has taken lives of innocent people in the old city of Hyderabad. The Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission has stepped in and asked the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary and Home Secretary department to submit a detailed report on the communal violence that took place in the old city Hyderabad, on or before 3 April 2010.

The direction came in the wake of a petition filed by Human Rights activists after hearing the petition the SHRC chairperson B Subashan Reddy passed the orders.

In the petition the petitioners pleaded with the SHRC that the state government be directed to constitute a High level committee so that the committee can identify the real culprits behind these violence and also provide medical aid and compensation to the victims by the government.
