Ed-CET Exam Pattern

This article gives you the Ed-CET exam structure. A detailed sectional-wise analysis of Ed-CET paper is given in order to facilitate the candidates in concentrating their preparation in the right areas. EdCET exam is the entrance exam for B.Ed courses.

Exam Structure of Ed-CET

The Ed-CET paper consists of 150 questions in total. Each question is of 1mark. Each question is a multiple-choice question with 4 options. Only one of the options is right and the candidate has to choose that option as the answer. Marking more than one option as answer will not be valid and will be counted as un-attempted question. There is no negative marking in the exam.
The paper is divided into three sections:

Section – A : General English - 25 Marks

This contains questions related to English like
- Fill in the blanks for checking you grammar
- Synonyms and Antonyms
- Questions may be based on a given comprehension etc.
This section consists of 25 questions and thus is worth of 25 marks.

Section - B: General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude - 25 Marks

In this section Questions are based completely on general knowledge and aptitude. Aptitude questions will be related to teaching and thus checking how good/bad is the candidate in teaching. This section consists of 25 questions and thus is worth 25marks

PART - C: Optional Subject: - 100 Marks

This section includes pure subject oriented questions based on the subject you choose. The following are the options:
1. Mathematics – It consists of 100 questions and thus worth of 100Marks.
2. Physical Sciences – This consists of 50 questions from Physics and 50 questions from Chemistry
3. Biological Sciences – This consists of 50 questions from Botany and 50 questions from Zoology.
4. Social Studies – This consists of 35 questions from Geography, 30 questions from History, 20 questions from Economics and 15 questions from Civics
5. Special English - This includes 50 questions from Intermediate syllabus and 50 questions from syllabus defined by B.A. Degree.
