This article lists a detailed Branch-wise Eligibility Criteria of GAT Examination for the admissions into Post Graduate Technical Courses of GITAM college.

Eligibility Criteria of GAT-PGT
Candidates appearing for GAT -2011(PGT) for the admissions into Post Graduate Technical Courses (mostly M.Tech) in GITAM should satisfy the following eligibility criteria.
1) The candidate should have successfully completed the
Bachelors Degree
(B.Tech for most of the cases) from a nationally recognized university.
2) Candidates appearing/awaiting results for their final year exams of the Bachelor Degree on the same year may also
apply for the GAT exam
.
3) The candidate should acquire the a minimum of 55% in any one of the Bachelors degree required for the respective M.Tech programs. Couurse wise requirements are as follows:
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Computer Science & Technology
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the branches (or) MCA (or) M.Sc in the following Streams :
- Physics
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Applied Physics
- Geophysics
- Computer Science
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Software Engineering
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the following branches
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Information Technology (IT)
- Electronics and Communication(ECE)
- Electrical and Electronics(EEE)
- Electronics and Instrumentation(EIE)
- Computer Science and Information Technology(CS&IT)
(or) MCA (or) M.Sc in the following Streams
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Information Technology
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the branches (or) . MCA (or) M.Sc in the following Streams
- Physics /Statistics
- Mathematics
- Applied Statistic
- Applied Physics
- Geophysics
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Radio Frequency & Microwave Engineering
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in ECE or M.Sc. in Electronics or M.Sc. (Tech) in Electronics
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. VLSI Design
and
M.Tech. Digital Systems & Signal Processing
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the following branches :
- Electronics and Communication (ECE)
- Electrical and Electronics(EEE)
- Electronics and Instrumentation (EIE)
- Computer Science and Engineering(CSE)
- Information Technology(IT)
- Information and Communication(ICE)
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Electronic Instrumentation
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the following branches :
- Electronics and Communication (ECE)
- Electrical and Electronics(EEE)
- Electronics and Instrumentation (EIE)
- Information and Communication(ICE)
- Instrumentation (IE)
(or) M.Sc in Instrumentation
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Structural Engineering & Natural Disaster Management
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in Civil Engineering.
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Power Systems & Automation
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE).
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Machine Design
and
M.Tech. CAD – CAM
should have completed either BE (or) B.Tech (or) AMIE in any of the following branches:
- Mechanical
- Production
- Automobile
- Marine
- Aerospace Engg.
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Industrial Engineering & Management
should have completed any one of the Engineering Degrees. The branch is not restricted.
• Candidates applying for
M.Tech. Biotechnology
should have completed one of the following degrees :
- B.Tech in Bio-Technology
- B.Tech in Chemical Engg.
- B.Pharmacy
- MSc in Chemistry – with Basic Biology and Mathematics proficiency
• Candidates applying for
Master of Computer Applications
should have completed any of the degrees with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and should have Mathematics as one of their Subjects in either 10+2 level or in their Degree.
