This article lists a detailed three-fold Admission Criteria for Post Graduate Management Programmes in GITAM College, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad and a couple of foreign universities.

Eligibility Criteria for Post Graduate Management Courses in GITAM

Eligibility for MBA and MHRM Courses in GITAM

Candidates appearing for GAT -2011(PGM), for the admissions into MBA(Master of Business Administration )and admissions into MHRM(Master of Human Resource Management)in GITAM College should satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

1) The candidate should have successfully completed his/her Bachelors Degree in any discipline with atleast 50% or equivalent grade and without failing in even one of the subjects.

2) Candidates appearing/awaiting results for the final year exams of their Bachelor's Degree on the same year can also apply for the exam.

Eligibility for MBA and MSc(Mgmt.) Courses in Foreign Universities

Candidates appearing for GAT -2011(PGM), for the admissions into MSc (Management) in University of Glasgow and admissions into MBA in Central Michigan University, USA should satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

1) The candidate should have successfully completed his/her Bachelors Degree in any discipline with atleast 60% or equivalent grade and without failing in even one of the subjects.

2) Candidates appearing/awaiting results for the final year exams of their Bachelor's Degree on the same year can also apply for the exam.

3) Candidates should have a ILETS score not less than 6.5 (preferably 7) overall and not less than 6 in any of the sub-sections.

Eligibility for PGADRIM Course in GITAM

Candidates appearing for GAT -2011(PGM), for the admissions into PGADRIM ( PG Advanced Diploma in Risk & Insurance Management ) should satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

1) The candidate should have successfully completed his/her Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with atleast 50% or equivalent grade and without failing in even one of the subjects.

2) Candidates appearing/awaiting results for the final year exams of their Post Graduate Degree on the same year can also apply for the exam.

Three- Fold Admission Process of GAT-PGM

1) GAT – GITAM Admission Test, An online objective test with 100 multiple choice questions. This is the first step of the admission process. The candidates selected from this test are called for the next step.

2) Group Discussion – All the candidates will be divided into random groups. Each group will be given a topic on the spot. Each candidate will be given a few minutes to express his views related to the topic and then a group discussion on the topic will follow.

3) Personal Interview – In this step each individual candidate is separately evaluated by a panel by seeing attitude, asking about his knowledge especially over Management etc.

GAT Score

Each of the above mentioned phases have certain weightage as mentioned below:
GAT-UGM exam – 60%
Group Discussion – 25%
Personal Interview – 15%

Special Note: Candidates who have a valid CAT Score or MAT Score or ATMA Score of the same year will be exempted from writing GAT Exam but they should apply for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview to get Admission into GITAM College.
