Guide to Posting Resources and Attaching Images in Andhra Spider

Earlier members were allowed to used external photo hosting websites like Photobucket. But this vas ruled out because of various factors like:

• The hosting site may stop their service. In which case Andhra Spider will be showing no images and will start showing ugly cross marks.

• The host may start charging you. And Obviously you don't want to pay for such a service so the site will stop hosting and again the same problem arises.

• Pictures do get good traffic in Google Image Searches so why do we have to miss it.

Thus AndhraSpider and all the other sister sites of ISC started having their own picture uploading and embedding system. Let us go through the how you can embed a picture in your Resource.

Step-wise Resource Posting and Image Uploading and Embedding

Step 1 : You click on the Post Resource in the Resources Page

Step 2: You read the terms and Conditions and then mark the check box below to agree to the terms.

Step 3 : You Select the Category and the Sub-categories and then fill up the Title and Summary with sentences having good keywords. Then write the Resource in the Description and give some Keywords to your resources in the Tags Box.

Step 4 : Scroll to the bottom of the Page where you will find a check box with "I want to add some attachments to this resource" . If you want to upload a picture and the resource really needs the picture check that check box (Just click on it).

Step 5: Click on the "Add New Attachment" Button.

Step 6: Use the "Browse" Button to select a photo from your Computer. Make sure your picture is not copyrighted.

Make sure you give a good keyword oriented name for the picture file. For example you are writing a resource on Brindavanam Movie and you download a picture of the movie and file name is "00efi4NTR.JPG". Then rename your file with some keyword that matches your resource like 'Brindavanam. JPG' or Brindavanam Movie.JPG" etc. This will increase the chances that people will find your picture in google searches and probably will end up seeing your resource. Give good keyword related to the photo in the Title also.

You will see two Options reading "Show this Attachment as a link below the resource" and " Do not show this Attachment as a link below the resource. I will use a hyperlink to embed this file inside the resource". For most of the purposes the second option is good. Do not go for the first option unless you actually want to show a thumbnail of the picture below your resource.

Step 7: You will find three HTML Image codes reading "Download Image Link", "Image Link", "Small Image Link"
If you want to embed the whole image in you resource then copy the Code beside "Image Link" .

If you want to embed just the thumbnail then you can use the code beside "Small Image Link". The thumbnail image is of very small size as shown on the same page.

Step 8: Open your Resource again. Press the "Edit" Button to Edit it. Paste the code you copied from the previous step anywhere in the Description Box you want.
