IndianOil is inviting Applications for the post Engineers/ Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs) in the following Streams

1) Chemical
2) Civil
3) Electrical
4) Instrumentation
5) Mechanical
6) Metallurgical

Educational Qualification for IOCL Recruitment 2010

Minimum educational qualification for employment in above mentioned positions are:
Candidates should have full time Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology disciplines as mentioned below:.

1) Chemical Posts in IOCL – Chemical / Petrochemicals engineering
2) Civil Posts in IOCl - only Civil Engineering - Construction/Transportation engineering are NOT allowed
3) Electrical Posts in IOCL – Electrical/Electrical & Electronics engineering - Electrical & Communication/ Telecommunication engineering is NOT allowed.
4) Instrumentation Posts in IOCL – Instrumental/Electronics & Instrumentation engineering - Electronics & Communication engineering/ Telecommunication engineering are NOT allowed.
5) Mechanical Postsin IOCL – Mechanical Engineering only - Production/ Manufacturing/ Industrial engineering are NOT allowed
6) Metallurgical Posts in IOCL –Metallurgical Engineering

General and OBC candidates should have secured a minimum of 65% in their qualifying degree.
For SC/ST candidates the criteria is relaxed to 'pass' class.

Candidates pursuing their final year in respective graduation degrees may also apply. But they should be in a position to produce their mark list by 31st July 2011.

Age Limit for IOCL Recruitment 2011

Candidates should not be over 26 years of age as on 30th June 2011.For OBC/SC/ST and PH category candidates the relaxation in the age will be according to the Presidential Directive.

Selection Criteria for IOCL Recruitment 2011

Step 1- GATE : All the candidates interested in applying for these posts in IOCL have to appear for the GATE exam in the respective disciplines:

Candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Interview based on their GATE Rank.

Step 2 - Group Discussion / Group Task : Group Discussion will be conducted in batches of around 10. Group Tasks will also be conducted if time permits.

Step 3 - Personal Interview : The Candidates will be assessed personally by a panel of experts from IOCL. They will mainly concentrate on the candidate's technical ability and communication skills.

All the candidates selected through GATE will go through Group Discussions and Personal Interview and the scores in both these steps will be added to get the final list of selected candidates.

Selected candidates should have to go through a medical test to finally get selected in the Recruitment.

Salary Package in IOCL Recruitment 2010

Candidates who are selected as engineers/officers –
Basic pay - Rs.24,900/-per month.
CTC - Rs. 8.50 lakhs per annum.

Candidates selected as Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs) -

Stipend for the 1st year Rs.20,000/- per month.
After 1 year the candidates may be appointed as Officers with the pay mentioned above.

How to apply- IOCL Recruitment 2011

1) Candidates should get their GATE2011 application form according to the GATE 2011 instructions. After filling up the Application form and following all the instructions as per GATE 2011, the candidate will get his GATE 2011 Registration Number.

2) Using the GATE 2011registration number, candidate should register themselves at http://www.iocl.com/ in a link that will be put up for IOCL Recruitment 2011, after reading all the instructions that are given in the site. Upon completion the candidate will be given an IOCL unique application ID.

Candidates should take the printout of the application, affix a photo to it, put his/her signature and keep it for reference.
