Resignation of dissatisfied AP Cabinet Ministers

All the new Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Minister took the oath at the Raj Bhavan without the knowledge of their exact portfolios. After the designations of the Ministers were declared in the evening of 1st December, 2010, many Cabinet ministers of Andhra Pradesh were not satisfied with what they got. Some of the Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet Ministers resigned.

The resigned Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Ministers include:

1) Vatti Vasanth Kumar - He was given the Tourism and Youth Affairs Ministry. He resigned not only for the Minister post but also for the MLA post. He was the Rural Development Minister of Andhra Pradesh in YSR-Rosaiah Cabinet.

2) Komat Reddy Venkat Reddy – He was given Infrastructure, Ports, Airports and Natural Gas Ministry. He only resigned his Minister post. He was the Information Technology minister in YSR-Rosaiah cabinet.

The above two minister were just a start. Many other newly appointed Cabinet Ministers also expressed their dissatisfaction over the designations and portfolios they were given to the media. Few of the minister who expressed their dissatisfaction are :

1) Dharmana Prasada Rao - He was given the Road and Building Ministry
2) Ponnala Laxmaiah - He was given the Information Technology Ministry
3) Botcha Satyanarayana - He was given the Transport Ministry
4) K. Laxminarayana - He was given the Housing Ministry
5) Damoda Rajanarsimha - He was given the Higher education Ministry
6) Danam Nagendar - He was given the labour Ministry
7) P. Shankar Rao - He was given the Textiles Ministry
8) Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy - He was given the Cooperation Ministry

All of them have complaints on the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet selection that they have been given quite insignificant posts. These are just the names that came out, but the media says internally nearly half of the cabinet is dissatisfied and aligned to resign.

Following these consequences Kiran Kumar Reddy personally spoke to some minister assuring them that the portfolios issue will be discussed in the First meet of the new AP cabinet on the morning of 2nd December.

If is quite a shameful day for Andhra Pradesh that most of the ministers are openly crying for higher posts. These same ministers took an oath at the Raj Bhavan that they would be working their best for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh people and on the same day they fight for portfolios.

Conclusion: We might see an Andhra Pradesh Cabinet with completely different portfolio composition by tonight.
