How to Reach Tirupati

About the Thirumala Tirupati Lord Venkateswara Temple

Tirupati is the abode of Lord Venkatachalapathy or the Lord Venkateswara and is located in the chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Since Tirupati is a well known tourist destination as well as a famous pilgrim center in the whole world, the city has a well planned net work of railways and road ways connecting the temple with almost all the cities in India.

Hyderabad , the capital city of Andhra Pradesh is located at about 555 kilometers from Tirupati Chennai the capital city of the state of Tamilnadu, which is the nearest to Tirupati, at 140 kilometers and Bangalore the capital of the state of Karnataka at about 280 kilometers. Hyderabad, Channai and Bangalore are international airports and you can get connection flights from all over the world to these cities. Tirupati has an airport of its own at Renigunta which is located at about 15 kilometers from Tirupati. Thirumala is connected by free shuttle services from the airport provided by TTD ( Thirumala Tirupati Devasthanam )and APSRTC ( Andhra Pradesh state road transport corporation).

If you are travelling by air, you can reach Renigunta and then avail free shuttle services to Tirupati. You can also hire taxi services from the sirport to Tirupati. Chennai is an international airport located at about 140 kilometers and can get road transport to Tirupati as well as flight service to Renigunta.

If you are travelling by rail you can reach Renigunta and travel by road or catch the trains which take you to Tirupati station itself. there are overnight trains from Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam to go to Tirupati. Narayanadri Express (12734) takes you to Tirupati on all days and takes about 12 hours.
Chennai is also connected to Tirupati by rail. There are two trains connecting Tirupati with Chennai namely Sapthgiri Express ( 16057 ) and Tirupati Express (16053) which runs on all days and just takes about 3 hours to reach Tirupati.

To travel by Road you can get transport buses from almost all the towns in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad - 555 kilometers
Vijayawada - 380 kilometers
Srisailam - 436 kilometers
Kalahasti - 36 kilometers,
Lepakshi - 379 kilometers
Taxis are available wherever you need them and you will be to easily access the temple town of Tirupati.
APSRTC buses run regularly from Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad to Tirupati luxury as well as Express service. From chennai Luxury buses are available and the fare will beb Rs 56/

You can also book your journey to Tirupati with the Tourist Information centers which is nearest to your town. They can arrange for the trip, for dharshan tickets and see to all of your needs in and around the temple of Lord Venkateswara of Thirumala.
