Most often many of us are good at subjective but when it comes to entrances, it needs an entirely different approach. Let us ponder over the points that we must be careful while writing an entrance exam. This im writing from my experience because im extremely poor in objective exams
behavioral targeting
1. First thing to remember in any entrance exam is that it does not matter how many questions you attempted the main thing is how many attempted questions are right when there is negative marking.
2. Firstly calculate the cutoff score in your mind. Normally it is 40-45% in any entrance. This will help you to set your time accordingly
3. While writing the exam, the most important criteria is time factor. We often waste time in thinking of difficult questions.
Instead of that it is better to go for lot which are easier and divide your answers like these:
i) sure
ii) partially sure that is when you are able to eliminate 2 options
iii)not sure
Put the answers only when you are sure or partially sure but never if you are not sure about the question
4. Remember that if you are able to solve 50% of the objective paper perfectly without mistakes you are sure to pass through.
5. The examiner always sees the point where a student makes a mistake and that is the reason the objective paper seems to be easy but very confusing.
6. Try to solve theory questions because they take less time and choose from easier to difficult. as you go on solving your confidence increases automatically
7. MOST IMPORTANT:
i) Never make mistakes while you are writing details like hall ticket number etc
ii)See and cross check that whether the bubble you have dotted is right or not because often in hurry we put in some other question so please beware of it.
8.Most of us know what to prepare but no one teaches us how to prepare. It depends upon our way of studying.
i) Firstly gather the easiest material which you are able to understand instead of standard textbooks and foreign authors. Trust me most of the students go for difficult reference books but ultimately the paper comes from their class textbooks only that we often ignore for ex: NCERT books
ii)Divide your time accordingly to the portions you chose to study and stick to it. It is not necessary to complete the whole syllabus prescribed. Be thorough with some topics perfectly or you atleast hav basic fundamentals about all the topics
iii) Instead of preparing hundreds and hundreds of objective questions read the theory deeply and analyze it more. This helps you lot
9. Remember that it is not like subjective that how much you have studied or how much you know. It matters how much you apply, you tackle to real time problems and your aptitude and confidence is all that you need
So friends all the best for your entrance examinations and don't make mistakes and regret later.
An entrance exam is more challenging interesting and brain-boggling than subjective so get set go!!
