After the exhaustive work of census, the government of India has released the report on population on March 31, 2011. Officers, teachers and other persons have engaged in this census process. The process was completed at the beginning of March.

Highlights of Andhra Pradesh Census report 2011

- Total population of Andhra Pradesh is 8,46,65,533.

- AP occupies fifth place in population of India.

- Population density for Andhra Pradesh is 308 persons per square kilometre.

- Population density for Hyderabad is 18,480 persons per square kilometre.

- Population of men is 4,25,09,881.

- Population of women is 4,21,55,652.

- Sex ratio according to 2011 census: 992:1000. This shows increased women. The sex ratio according to 2001 census is 978:1000.

- Nizamabad has created history by having highest sex ratio which consist 1038 women for 1000 men.

- Literacy rate of Andhra Pradesh is 67.66%.

- Literacy rate among men is 75.76%.

Government of India has released census report of entire India also.
