Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university is one of the worlds best universities providing education with various disciplines in Engineering and Management Studies.
It was established in 1965 as the Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College, later it was renamed after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1972. The university satellite campuses include
Jntu-Hyderabad,Jntu-Kakinada,Jntu-Karimnagar and Jntu-Anantapur. Jntu colleges are well known for quality education across the globe. In 2008 each campus was given autonomous university
status by Govt of India.It is the only University to have more than 300 affiliated colleges in a state.
Jntu- Hyderabad , commonly known as JNTUH is located in Kukatpally. JNT university has 'A' Grade accreditation by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).Has an intake
of about more than 2000 students.JNTU has been made an autonomous one after Act No 30 of the approval of the Govt of Andhra Pradesh Legislature known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
Universities Act, 2008 that was signed on 18th August, 2008. The university not only concentrates on teaching but also on research and development consisting of the constituent and many
affiliated colleges. The top level officers and heads of the university are Chancellor, Vice-chancellor, Rector, Executive council and Academic Senate. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh currently
E.S.L. Narasimhan is the Chancellor of the university. The first Vice-Chancellor of the university is Dr.D.N.Reddy , who is still continuing his position as vice chancellor
of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological university.
