    Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is one of the famous Tribal Festival of Andhra Pradesh. Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is also well known as Medaram Jatara. Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is one type of tribal festival of Andhra Pradesh which is observed by the Telengana Region people. In this festival they worship a goddesses. This festival shows a fight of truth against lie or unjust law. It is fight of a daughter and mother or Sammakka and Saralamma. You may know that Sammakka Saralamma Jatara attracts the second highest numbers of devotees from all over India. It is popular that Kumbha Mela is the first one.

    The celebrated place is Medaram when the goddesses of the tribals arrive. Medaram is Sammakka Saralamma Jatharalocated in a remote place which is near Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary. This place is famous as Dandakaranya. This is a great thing that Sammakka Sarakka Jatara is the largest tribal festival in all over the world. They observe it in every two hours. You cannot imagine but it is true that more than 6 million people observe this festival in one place. The observed place is 90kms away from Warangal city.

    Through it is a tribal festival, people worships their goddess with the sacrification of Goats, Hens and liquor. This festival is 1000 years old and the Govt of Andhra Pradesh has approved it as official festival. There were more than 8 millions people attended the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara in 2008. This festival is so famous and so crowded that the people line goes more than 60 kms.
