    Gowri Habba Festival of Andhra Pradesh is one of the famous Hindu Festival of Andhra Pradesh. This festival is celebrated before one day of Ganesh Puja. This festival is one of the famous Festival of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This Festival Gowri Habba is based on the Goddess Gowri who is the mother of Ganesh. According to Hindu Satras Goddess Gowri is known as the symbol of Power and courage. She is known as the power of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Goddess Gowri comes to her Parents home as a married girl and after one day Lord Ganesh comes to take her back to Kailasa. On this festival The Swarna Gowri vratha is performed.

    On this day of Gowri Habba Festival of Andhra Pradesh first the married women get bath and wear new clothes as a newly married girl. Then they worship the jalagauri which is a turmeric taken as the idol of Goddess Gowri. But now a day you can get good painted Clay idols of Goddess Gowri from the market. Then the women go to the temples to worship Goddess Gowri.

    In that festival the sitting place of Godees Gowri is known as Mandapa which is decorated with mango leaves and banana stems. The Goddess Gowri is decorated with flowers. The a tread which is known as vratha is worshiped and which is tied on the right wrists of the women. Each vratha having about 16 knots. Then the women offer the bagina which is a collection of kumkum, arshina, dhaanya, coconut, rice, green dal, jaggery cut etc. This is the most important part of the Gowri Habba Festival of Andhra Pradesh.

    The custom of the Gowri Habba Festival of Andhra Pradesh is the newly married couples invited to their in law's house and served many types of festive food. But however this is one of the famous Festival of Andra Pradesh.
