There is a history related to each and every monument in the world. This Charminar was built in the year 1591 AD by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, who was the fifth ruler of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. This king had shifted his capital city from Golkonda to the present Hyderabad city in Andhra Pradesh state, India. Charminar Hyderabad minarets were built in Hydrebad city in memorial of the elimination for a plague epidemic in the city. This Charminar Hyderabad monument was constructed using granite, limestone, marble as well as pulverized marble. It is believed that there was an underground tunnel that connects Golkonda to Charminar. Actually this monument is square shape with 20 metres long with beautifully carved minarets that are 48.7 metres tall above the ground level.
Each of these minarets is beautifully crowned by a dome with petal like designs at the base. It should be noted that these minarets have stories, which are marked by a carved ring. There is a beautiful mosque located at the western end of the open roof. Apart from this, there are 149 steps inside each minaret to take the visitors to the top floor.
